The Britten War Requiem
- Where: Hult Center for the Performing Arts, Eugene
- When: Saturday, February 25th
- The Eugene Concert Choir performs The Benjamin Britten’s Requiem for War. This performance contrasts poetry from the World War I poet Wilfred Owen with music from the traditional Latin Requiem Mass. The program is Saturday at the Hult Center in Eugene.

Portland Jazz Festival

- The Portland Jazz Festival kicks off tomorrow at various venues around Portland. Hear Branford Marsalis, Bill Frisell and Charlie Hunter, among many others, at this year’s annual celebration of jazz. There are also lots of local jazz artists participating. “Playing with a Full Deck”

- What if individual playing cards were mailed all over the world, and different artists contributed a piece of artwork to each card? Well guess what? Someone actually did this! If you’re near Cannon Beach anytime this week, you still have time to see it! The exhibition is called “Playing with a Full Deck - A Mail Art Collaboration”. It runs through the end of this month.

Manuel Izquierdo Paperworks
- Where: Portland Art Museum
- When: Through March 4th
- The Portland Art Museum is currently exhibiting the work of the late Manuel Izquierdo. You might know him for his sculptures and woodblock printmaking, but this exhibition features his less known art: pastels, prints and drawings. Paperworks is a survey of this work over a period of seven decades. Many of the pieces on display have never been exhibited until now.

Mark Rothko
- Where: Portland Art Museum
- When: February 18th – May 27th
- At the Portland Art Museum this month is a retrospective on Oregon-raised Mark Rothko. This exhibit traces his artistic path from the 1920s to 1970, and features 45 works that signify Rothko’s transformations as an artist. The show opens this weekend and runs through May.
